House manners is a virtue that pays dividends over the lifetime of your dog and calls for a hand on approach teaching your companion the do’s and dont’s of what’s acceptable behavior and what’s not.
We can’t have any gray areas in expectations as that will only lead to more confusion at the dog’s end and frustration at yours.
Set clear limits non what’s acceptable and what isn’t. Make sure you reenforce your predetermined parameters everytime, not once in a while. Your four legged companion thrives when he/she knows the rules to operate in and will offer behavior willingly as it knows you’re going to reward him/her for behaving as expected.
Routine is your friend.
