Training

Often in society, in their depiction in media and film, animals including our dogs are viewed in an anthropomorphic light where owners start to invest human emotions expecting their dogs to read their mind and start putting unrealistic expectations on the dog without taking the time to actually work with him/her. They expect the dog to act a certain way while their body language sings a completely different tone.

It has to be said that dogs don’t speak your native tongue whether it’s English, Hindi, German or Chinese   What they do notice, understand and take cues from is your body language, your gestures, demeanors and how you present them to your canine partner.
The most important aspect of training is understanding that you and your dog are a team and you should work as such, setting each other up for success.

Think of training like word association , like a game of charades even. Assist the dog to perform a desired behavior, throw in a bit of incentive, making it a fun thing to do for the both of you and viola! We have the start of a functional training relationship.
