Form follows function

When we as enthusiasts look at the functionality of a breed, we must look to its founding idea. The GSD was developed as a utility herding dog that was tasked with many more duties than trotting in a ring.

The anatomy of the dog should facilitate it to jump, turn, stop with ease and keep that sustained not only for the day, but for many years of active life.

These are the questions we must think of when we are looking at a german shepherd, not just as a trotting dog. The dog should be able to jump as effortlessly as he/she can trot.

After all, the jack of all trades, master of none is always better than the master of one.
